THE NETWORK
Since its launch in May 2019, Face à la mer has established itself over the past seven years as the leading network of photographers in the Mediterranean and Africa.
Today, our community brings together over a thousand creators—ranging from emerging talents to established names—united by a shared commitment to visual excellence and strong local roots.
To address the recurring challenge of locating photographers in specific regions while offering creators targeted visibility, the Face à la mer (FALM) network and its founding partner Hans Lucas are creating a custom-built platform.
Built on proven technology and already bringing together 800 photographers and 1,300 clients, the platform will enable creators to showcase their work, indicate their location, and facilitate direct contact.
Essential for decentralizing talent and connecting supply with demand, the platform will be accessible to everyone through free introductory sessions hosted twice a year by the partner teams.
A TOOL FOR ICONOGRAPHERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS FOCUSED ON THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION
Invited experts frequently cite the difficulty of identifying photographers in specific regions, while photographers themselves often struggle to make their work visible.
To address this issue, founding partner Hans Lucas proposed creating a dedicated site to provide a tool that meets everyone’s needs.
Built upon the Hans Lucas platform – currently used by 800 photographers across 60 countries and 1,300 clients -, this platform will enable photographers to showcase their work, as well as their locations and contact details.
Members of the Hans Lucas and Facing the sea teams will hold free introductory sessions twice a year to explain how the platform works to new photographers.
Membership in this network is by application.
