WHO WE ARE
The goal of the Tangier Photo Meetings is to spark discussions, launch initiatives to support projects, and assist independent professionals in their work.
Our efforts are aimed at all professional photographers, whether emerging or established. We also seek to showcase and support unconventional projects, new forms of photographic storytelling, and bold formats.
We hope to create a space for exchange—all too rare—among professionals in the media, publishing, and photography sectors.
DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER:
Yamna Mostefa, originally from Carcassonne, has followed a diverse path; over the years, her passion has become Tangier and its international culture.
Her intercultural identity is reflected in her journey in Morocco and in her encounters with authors and artists active in the Maghreb.
More than a decade of travel and encounters has allowed her to listen to and understand the challenges faced by Maghrebi photographers—and to observe how shared professional values unite the key figures of Mediterranean photography.
FOUNDER / MULTI-TASKER:
Wilfrid Estève divides his time between Tangier, Carcassonne, and Paris. A photographer and educator, he has headed the Hans Lucas press agency since 2006.
From 2004 to 2009, he served as president of the French association ANJRPC (National Association of Photojournalists and Filmmakers).
In 2009, he co-founded the UPP (Union of Professional Photographers)—serving as its vice-president—as well as the public-interest association FreeLens, which he presided over from 2009 to 2019.
In 2015, he was named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
Acting as a “Swiss Army knife” for the director, he performs a wide range of roles for the photography festivals, both in France and Morocco.
